Actively Working Aspiring Knowledge and Empowerment Now (AWAKEN) is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit holistic human services organization providing a full range of support and treatment options to at risk people –such as the physically challenged, low income and/or minority groups in and around the Tri State (PA,NJ,DE) areas.

 

Our mission is to assist at-risk individuals with supportive services that meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs which create a healthy lifestyle and ensure success and long term self sufficiency.

 

Founded in 2013, the organization is in the start-up phase of operations, and has assembled an active and engaged board of directors, appointed an acting Executive Director, and is beginning to form relationships with key community stakeholders in order to provide the services described below.

 

Assisting at-risk individuals often requires a complex mixture of political know-how, case management, persistence, and moxy.  Although there are many services to help these groups of people, most are specialized, and do not offer a holistic approach to support. AWAKEN is unique in that we do provide holistic support by creating, maintaining, and offering access to a 24 hour support network, assisting in many areas of human services, including:

 

• Mental Health Services- Behavioral and Mental Health Assessment, Counseling, and Treatment provided at free to low cost on site or by referral.

 

• Social Services - Assistance with connecting individuals with resources from county, state, and governmental agencies, etc.

 

• Workforce Development - Job Training Workshops, Job Placement and Retention.

 

• Medical Health and Wellness Services - Providing resources to promote health and wellness, and assistance with navigating health care system.

 

• Advocacy - To assist the community in promoting, donating, and fundraising for events that support major causes that affect our community.
